Roanoke Valley Harley-Davidson….History, Commitment and Tradition!
In 1914, Harley-Davidson Motor Company was approached by Milton Menefee to open a Harley-Davidson dealership on Cambell Avenue in Roanoke, VA. He was approved, and Harley-Davidson had a store in Roanoke, VA. In 1922, the dealership was sold to Ed and John Waley. John Butterfield purchased the dealership in 1953. After 4 years of operation, John decided to move the dealership to 2450 Centre Avenue. In 1982 John Butterfield sold the dealership to Loyd and Kathy Shiffer. Soon after, the dealership became a great success. Loyd and Kathy felt it was time to expand. In 1995 they moved Roanoke Valley Harley-Davidson to its new home, 1925 Peters Creek Road.
